This program is similar to an indoor climbing gym, but outdoors. You’ll find; new Top ropes, Lead climbs, and climbing partners. You’ll get; experienced route beta, coaching, and belaying. Each time you register for open rock you will have the chance to climb at a different area in the Bow Valley with a professional Calgary Climbing Centre instructor. Let us help you transition to outdoor rock until you feel confident to climb on your own. This program includes all necessary equipment. No experience necessary.

The sun is shining and the mountains are calling you. Come outside with us and learn how to climb on rock. This course will teach you the top rope skills you would use inside, outside. Our ACMG certified guides will help you learn the skills to get you started as an outdoor rock climber. This full day basic course includes instruction and coaching on rock, and all the gear you need for your course. No experience necessary.

So you're starting to feel comfortable top-roping outside and have been loving the feel of the cool or warm rock under your fingers. Want to go out and set up your own rope? Taking it to the next level. The next step in the world of climbing, indoors and outdoors, is learning how to lead. This course will teach you everything you need to know to lead climb and lead belay outdoors. Including rope maintenance, anchor building, efficient quick draw clipping, lead safety, and route cleaning. All equipment is included as well as a 2 hour indoor preparation course before your outdoor day(s).Choose from 2 options: A full day outdoors or gain valuable practice of your new skills and learn plenty of tips and tricks on our weekend option.

 There is so much rock to climb in the Rockies, let us give you a bird’s eye view. In this course our ACMG certified guides will make sure that you are ready for whatever the local climbing areas may throw your way. This course involves a 2hour indoor evening training course and 1 full day of outdoor climbing. We will introduce you to some of the necessary skills to climb multi-pitch routes. You will learn about anchors, gear placement and evaluation, multi-pitch belaying, route reading, and more while climbing higher and higher off the deck. You must know how to lead climb outdoors before taking this course.  Want to do something totally different for a birthday this year? Why not head out to the stunning mountains and spend a day climbing. Let our experienced guides take you out to the Rockies where you will spend a worry free day playing on the rock. This is the perfect course for anyone who has been interested in rock climbing outdoors but has no previous experience. We'll introduce you to the outdoor climbing experience and you just need to show up ready to have an amazing time. Minimum of 4 participants needed. $75/ person for 3 hours (4 person minimum) |
 Have you been climbing outside and don’t seem to be getting better? Nervous about trying harder routes with your friends? Have you left gear on a route because you couldn’t get to the top? Take our focused 4 week courses with indoor and outdoor training each week. We offer small class sizes with experienced and passionate coaches. 4 outdoor sessions of 4 hrs. and 4 indoor sessions of 2 hrs. for a total of 24 hrs of coaching on how to climb and succeed on harder routes. Must know how to lead climb. $399 The Calgary Climbing Centre Outdoors (CCCO) is committed to offering you a great outdoor experience in the Rocky Mountains. We understand that weather and mountain conditions can be (at best) unpredictable, but we always strive to offer a great experience and opportunity for learning, regardless of the conditions. Regardless of conditions, on the day of your course, participants must be at the climbing venue on time to discuss the options available. Often there are several weather systems between the city and the venue, and although(for example) it may be snowing in Calgary, it might also be warm and dry at the venue. In the event of extreme weather conditions that may affect the instructors’ ability to offer a safe course, we reserve the right to cancel a course at any time. Advance cancellations: We will contact you by phone and process a full refund immediately to cancel a course prior to the date of the course (no later than 9pm the day before). Day of cancellations: If the course was to be cancelled at the venue due to weather, the participants present would receive a full refund. On your course day, If you choose not to venture to the venue, we will not issue a credit or refund. Participant cancellations: We will accept cancellations of course registration up to 60 hours before the course start time (3 days before the course at 9pm). You will be charged a $50 administration fee if you cancel or reschedule a course. |
